Elegant Lake Como Ceremony

Romance and Italy go hand in hand and when Roxanna & Shamim got engaged in Cernobbio, Italy, they knew they'd be back one day to make it "official," accompanied by their family and friends. The black tie affair took place at Villa d'Este, a 16th-century estate on the shores of Lake Como. The intimate ceremony was set in a stunning English garden, where a string quartet accompanied them with classical music. Guests were later treated to an elaborate two-hour cocktail event overlooking the lake, followed by an Italian feast in the stately Impero Room. The menu delicacies included roasted blue lobster, loin of veal, risotto scampi and goose liver with chocolate covered cherries. We think the best part of the meal, however, was the dessert. Guests were subsequently invited back out to the terrace where cheers and applause filled the air when the happy couple cut into their 5-foot cake as fireworks lit up the sky behind them.
